Tannheimer Valley ski resort in Tyrol – a skiing holiday for the whole family
27 lifts and cable cars, 55 km of sunny pistes with guaranteed snow
The Tannheimer Valley lies in Tyrol near the border with Allgäu. Away from the bustle of the large Alpine ski resorts, you can enjoy skiing in fresh, clean air, surrounded by magical mountain vistas.
27 lifts and cable cars distributed across the Tannheimer Valley give you access to 55 km of maintained pistes. The free ski bus will take you to any of the lifts in under half an hour; the bus stop is just 100 m from Hotel Hohenfels: walk it or ski it!
Sunshine on the slopes in the snow-sure Tannheimer Valley
Thanks to its broad, open topography, the Tyrolean upper valley is one of the sunniest locations in the country. Far above the fog line, you can enjoy sunny ski runs at their best, or just relax on the sun terraces by the welcoming mountain huts.
The Tannheimer Valley is what's known as a snow trap – if there's no snow here, there's no snow anywhere! This means we can generally dispense with artificial snow and offer skiers and snowboarders purely natural pistes.
The perfect resort for children and families – ski schools and ski rentals
The Tannheimer Valley ski resort near Germany is perfectly suited to families and children. It has a leisurely pace and uncrowded slopes, ideal for beginners. The Tannheimer Valley also boasts eight ski schools, five children's adventure playgrounds and quality ski equipment for hire.
If you are looking for a suitable ski course, want a ski instructor to polish or refresh your technique, or need to hire ski equipment, just ask us at the hotel about your options, and we will be happy to advise you.
Free skiing: In 2018 you can once again get a free three-week Tannheimer Valley lift pass for January! The sale begins after the Christmas holidays.
Skiing holiday right on the slopes at Hotel Hohenfels
Hotel Hohenfels sits on a small rise over Tannheim and is directly by the ski slopes. Take your pre-warmed ski boots from the ski room, cross the lobby, cover the ten metres to the ski store in front of the hotel and then it's just another ten metres to the slopes. Just a few strokes of your skis will set you on your way towards Neunerköpfle – or you can avoid the short uphill walk by taking the lift instead.
Then at the end of a day's skiing, just ski right back to the ski store. Hohenfels is ideally situated for skiing and all kinds of winter sports.
